GERTRUDE HAGMAN
(nee DESHARNAIS)
She was predeceased by her loving husband Lawrence (2001); her brothers, Edward and John; and her sister Eveline.
Mom will lovingly be remembered by her family, son Phillip (Lisa), son John and son Norman (Natalie); her four grandchildren, Randy, Louise, Roman (Anh) and Nadia; three great-grandchildren, Kaden, Greyson, and Rosa; her nieces, Annick, and Marie-Isabelle.
Gertrude was born in St. Pierre on April 17, 1932, where she grew up and moved to Winnipeg. On April 24, 1955, Gertrude married Lawrence Hagman and began their family. She worked for many years at MTS, Typoplate and Safeguard Business Systems. Upon retiring, Gertrude found great joy in caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, gardening, and watching hockey on TV.
She was friendly and kind, and loved to chat with anyone who dropped by to visit. She was the most caring, giving person you could ever meet. She loved the beauty of nature
With calm acceptance of her condition, she continued to demonstrate a dignity and care for others. Mom quietly passed away.
Thank you John for caring for Mom all the years of her life. She loved you and appreciated all you did for her.
We miss you, Mom.
You will always be in our thoughts.
A small memorial service will be held at Whyte Ridge Baptist Church, 2405 McGillivray Blvd. on Thursday, April 11 at 7:00 p.m.
The family will have a private interment service this summer.

For us, Gertrude was simply “matante”. She was the best aunt anybody could ask for and she will always hold a very special place in our hearts. To our cousins Philip, Norman, and John, who took such good care of her during these last few years, we share your grief. We miss you and love you all very much. Repose-toi bien mantante. Dear Phil and Family, John and I are so sad to hear about the passing of your mom. She was always so sweet and kind. Your mom would crochet slippers, pot holders and scrubbers for many of us who loved them, even though we didn't know each other personally. We know that she will be greatly missed. Our sincere condolences and sympathies. Love, John and Nicole Reis - Posted by: Nicole and John Reis (BIL and SIL) on: Apr 09, 2019

Dear Johnny & family, I am so sad to hear about your mom's passing. Even though many years have gone by since we were neighbours, it feels like yesterday when I think back to the wonderful days when we lived a fence away and swapped recipes and sampled each other's home-grown veggies. As a matter of fact I still use your mom's zucchini recipe. I will always remember your mom's kindness and sunny disposition. My family and I are thinking about you and we would like to extend our sincere condolences to all the family. - Posted by: Carol Hatton (former neighbour) on: Apr 09, 2019

Dear Phil and Family, I am truly sorry to hear of your mother's recent passing. Although I never had the opportunity to meet her in person, if Phil is his mother's son, then she must have been a very beautiful, kind and generous person. I wish you my deepest condolences and may her fond memories be with you always. With my sincere sympathies, Paula Lytwyn - Posted by: Paula Lytwyn (Friend ) on: Apr 09, 2019
