JOHN RONALD REID
October 10, 1932 - April 8, 2019

Peacefully on the morning of April 8, 2019, with family at his bedside, "Dad" passed away.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Geraldine, his three sons, James (Crystal), Barry (Karen) and John Jr.; his brother Douglas, and sisters, Mary, Jean and Betty.
Dad was predeceased by his parents, James and Agnes, and his sister Shirley.
Affectionately known as "Chubby" he was born in North Bay, ON. Dad spent his formative years in Toronto and in 1958 he and Mom moved to Winnipeg. Dad worked at the Manitoba Rolling Mills in Selkirk until his retirement in 1997. He loved watching T.V., movies and reruns of Perry Mason and Matlock. And of course sports, golf, curling and his favourite, boxing. For a city guy he sure had a knack for gardening as his backyard vegetable garden was simply amazing. He and Mom had many fun and exciting winter vacations to Mexico. Dad always liked a little zing in his Pepsi. He had a love of animals, especially dogs; we are sure he has crossed the Rainbow Bridge with his two very special furry friends, Susie and Pepe.
Our family would like to express our many thanks to the wonderful staff of the Kildonan Personal Care Centre. Dad was treated with the utmost dignity, respect, care and compassion, you were amazing. "God Bless" you all.

God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
The courage to change the things I can;
And the wisdom to know the difference

A private family service will be held.
