MARCELLA (MARCY) BERNARDIN

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marcella Bernardin on the
evening of April 18, 2019 at the St. Boniface Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.
Marcy was predeceased by her mother and father, Antoinette and Marcel Bernardin as well as her youngest sister, Danielle.
She is survived by her loving husband
Robert Gross, her own children, Renée Smart (Brent), Greg Beaudin (Tracy) and three step children, Bobbie-Jo (Vegard), Thom (Crystal) and Brian (Val).
She so cherished her grandchildren, Miguel (Jess), Eric, Andrew as well as a great-granddaughter Addison.
Her extended family also includes 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren with one great-grandchild on the way. Marcy is also predeceased by Marley, her great- grandson who died shortly after birth. It was of utmost importance to spend quality time with her children, and they knew just how special they were to her.
Marcy will be lovingly remembered by her four sisters and their spouses, Colette
(Clarence), Jocelyne (Doug), Elaine, Dianne (Gerry).
Our beloved and talented Marcy spent countless hours painting and creating original masterpieces that she would often frame
professionally in order to share her creations with family and friends. Many who knew her were also touched by her personalized
painted cards that she would send by mail or give to them in person for varying occasions. This was her way of showing others just how much she cared for them.
This beautiful and classy lady as she was often described was always the life of the party and her presence in all facets of life will be greatly missed.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on
Thursday, April 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Blessed Sacrament Church in Elie, Manitoba, with a tribute video, prayers, and eulogy
beginning at 10:15 a.m. Interment to follow at the Elie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marcy's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

  • My family and I were so shocked and saddened to hear of Marcie's passing. She was such a dear lady - a real class act. Her kindness was displayed over and over by her gifts of soup and other foods which she would bring over at the lake. The artwork she gave to my grandchildren will be cherished forever. Many a time, we would know Bob and Marcie were at the lake because suddenly, the weed eater would start and run all day, while Marcie was cutting grass. Their yard was always so well-kept! Marcie will be missed terribly by us and by all who knew her. She was a terrific lady and much loved. She will remain in our hearts! - Posted by: Karen Wiebe (Friend and neighbour) on: Apr 23, 2019
