JEANNE LOUISE CARRUTHERS
(nee MILLS)
Jeanne Louise Carruthers is the beloved wife of Ian; dear sister of Pauline, Richard (Christina), Jane and Jonathan; adored sister-in-law to Marc, Kathy and Beth; and cherished friend to many. She will be greatly missed by her cats, Basil, SuzieQ and Stella. She is predeceased by her parents, Shan and Edith Mills.
Jeanne had a plethora of accomplishments that included a Masters degree in Geology from Memorial University of Newfoundland; but it was her extraordinary sewing, knitting and quilting skills for which she will be revered. A mentor, teacher and coach, Jeanne's creative skills have been a positive influence on many.
Cremation has taken place. In accordance with Jeanne's wishes there will be no service but a celebration of Jeanne's life will be held this summer in her backyard garden.

Please accept my sincere condolences Ian for the loss of your and our dear Jeanne. I will never forget the first time I had the honour of meeting Jeanne. Her playful spirit immediately left an impression on me and I already looked forward to our next visit at Debbie’s. As our friendship continued, my gratefulness increased at having her as my friend. Her wisdom, thoughtfulness, kindness and many other outstanding attributes will truly be cherished and missed. I remember vividly the mini-dress Jeanne wore at our ‘Girls Night In - 60’s Night’. All of us girls’ jaws dropped at the sight of her gorgeous legs as a result of her fierce dedication to the ‘boot camp’ training she was involved with. She gave us a few moves as only savvy ladies could perform on the catwalk. We were mesmerized and I can speak for all of us there that night when I say, Jeanne ‘rocked it’. As I look back on the great times we had together, my heart will continue to feel blessed to know such a wonderful person. The pleasure was all mine Jeanne. Until we meet again. Love, your friend Cheryl - Posted by: Cheryl (Friend ) on: May 02, 2019

Ian and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Jeanne always had a smile on her face and always loved a good laugh even during her courageous battle she always made time to come and do her burpees and run the hill with a group of people that loved her to pieces. I will always remember her telling me stories of her cats and how much she loved them, she always put others first even during times when she should be focusing on herself. She will missed deeply ❤️❤️ - Posted by: Liz Doyle (Friend) on: Apr 29, 2019

We are very sorry to have had to say goodbye to Jeanne. We have so many wonderful memories of the times we spent with both of you Ian. Dinners at our house and out were always so much fun. Our “Girl’s Night In” were the best, especially the 60’s night when Jeanne walked in wearing a “Fab” mini dress she of course sewed. It was more like micro mini! Cheryl’s was just as short and we had to give them blankets to cover themselves when they sat down. What a laugh we had over that! The girls still talk about it. We had a blast that night and that’s how we want to remember Jeanne- full of life and laughter. Even though you never had your own children, she was so much a part of ours. The beautiful quilts she made for our grandchildren will be a lasting legacy of her extreme kindness and generosity, not to mention her unbelievable sewing skills. She shared her gift with everyone. Jeanne was one of a kind and we will miss her dearly, but she has only gone ahead and we will see her again. Safe journey Jeanne - it was an honour and privilege to know you. - Posted by: Randy and Debbie Grandpre (Friends) on: Apr 28, 2019

Ian, I am sorry for your loss. I still remember Jeanne's laugh and good will for others, inspite of her own health problems. I‘ll never forget when she brought me the two "cows" for my grandsons herd. She was always interested in hearing stories of him.
