LESLIE THOMAS FAWLEY
April 19, 1931 - April 20, 2019

Les peacefully passed away on April 20, 2019.
He is survived and sorely missed by his children, Pamela, Jillian (Brett) and Mark
(Jo-Ann); grandchildren, Robin (Marc), Luke (Erin), Leah (David), Danielle (David) and Adam; and great-grandchildren, Sean,
Matthew, Elliot, Emmett and Madeleine.
He was predeceased by his wife and love of 64 years Connie (nee Bacon); parents,
Benjamin and Winnifred Fawley; his
brothers, Norman, Ben and Ed; his sister Jean; and grandson Matthew.
He was born on April 19, 1931 in St.
Boniface, Manitoba, and he spent the first two years of his life being treated at the Winnipeg Shrine Hospital for crippled children. The surgeries performed allowed him to later proudly march in the Khartum Flag Patrol.
Les had 50 plus years as an AF&AM Mason and was a Past Master of both Red River #172 and Phoenix #187 Lodges. He also had 50 plus years in the Khartum Shrine and was a
member of both the Flag Patrol (Life
Member) and Skooters.
Dad was a natural salesman, selling everything from Liberty magazines and bread
before starting a career in the appliance
industry, starting out in the lamp department of General Electric and working his way up to the Major Appliance contract department (CAMCO) for 33 years. He started his second career with Coast Wholesale Appliances for more than 25 years and finally retired at the age of 78. He truly loved selling and meeting people.
Les and Connie were married on August 16, 1952. They enjoyed spending the summers at "The Cottage" with the family, winters in Palm Springs, as well as trips to England, Europe and the Maritimes.
There will be a Celebration of Life on
Monday, April 29, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Khartum Shrine House, 1155 Wilkes Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Transportation Fund, 1155 Wilkes Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3P 1B9.

  • Sad to hear the news. I am sure Les is being greeted by those that went ahead and a typical Fawley get-together is taking place. It sure makes you remember the great times..... - Posted by: Barry Fawley (nephew) on: Apr 28, 2019
