ROSE MARTHA ERNSTBERGER
(nee SCHMAUS)

Rose passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Friday, April 19, 2019, in Winnipeg, Manitoba at Concordia General Hospital.
Born May 2, 1930, Rose grew up in Germany. She met and married her soulmate, Franz Ernstberger in 1951, before immigrating to Canada and settling in Winnipeg in 1955. Rose worked for Monarch Industries and then later, starting Happy Knitting, which she continued to operate well into her golden years.
A skilled designer, Rose loved to knit, her Knit Club, dear to her heart, has been active for over 35 years, she loved her Knit Ladies like an extended family.
Rose is survived by her loving son Kenneth (Monica); her three greatest treasures in this world, granddaughters, Emily, Sarah and Isabella; her sister Gerda (Manfred); nieces, Debbie (Brent) and Sharon (Jamis); great-niece Samantha; and great-nephew Liam. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Franz; her brother-in-law, Robert W. Ernstberger; and her loving parents, Josef and Martha Schmaus.
A celebration of Rose's life will be held on Thursday, May 2, at 10:00 a.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. A reception will follow. All are welcome to attend.
