EMILE HORACE BRABANT
August 8, 1928 - April 29, 2019
Emile's memory will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Pattie Brabant; sisters, Isobel Mourant and Leonie Olcen; brother Fr. David Brabant P.S.S.; many nieces and nephews and his dear friend Jane.
He was predeceased by his father Moise Brabant, his mother Emma (McDougall), infant brother Henri, brother Maurice (Moe) Brabant, sister-in-law Pat Brabant, brother-in-law Noel Mourant and Jim Olcen.
Emile was born and raised in St. Vital, Manitoba. He spent most of his working life as a heavy equipment mechanic for Hugh Munroe Construction and Fenwick Construction Company, working in various remote areas of Western Canada. He was tough and enjoyed working in the great outdoors, in any kind of weather.
He was a private, quiet man but always had a smile on his face. We will always remember his mischievous grin.
In the last few years, Emile was very fortunate to have a special friend re-enter his life. Jane played a great part in his happiness and well-being and we thank her for that.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home & Cemetery, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba with Father David Brabant officiating.

I had the pleasure of knowing Emile as he was one of my residents at Foyer. Over the many years that I knew him I appreciated his thirst for current events. He read the Free Press daily and we would discuss the daily news. He was such a kind, gentle soul. His relationship with Jane in the later years was so heartwarming. Rest In Peace dear friend. I met Emile through my Mother Jane. Mom adored Emile and once I met him I could see why. He was a wonderful man with a kind, loving, gentle way about him. Emile, you and Mom gave each other a lot of happiness and I was so happy that you were able to meet each other again after so many, many years. You will be so greatly missed. You will be forever in our hearts. Love Diane - Posted by: Diane (Friend) on: May 04, 2019
