ELIZABETH ANN BOULTON
(nee BROOKING)
1931 - 2019
Left to mourn her are her sister Gail Matthews; children, Karen (Barney), Laura (Derek), William and David (Terrie); grandchildren, Thomas (Seka), Gui (Nicole), Hailey (Justin), Cole, Adam, Kenna; great-grandchildren, Liam, Jacob and Brenna.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert (Ted) Boulton.
Mom was born and raised in Winnipeg and she attended Riverbend School. After graduation she attended secretarial college and worked at the Red Cross until she married Albert (Ted). Together they raised their four children. As a family we spent the summers at West Hawk Lake until they discovered sailing. By that time West Hawk Lake was too small so they moved their summer home to Lake of the Woods. Winter weekends were spent at the boxcars down hill skiing at Agassiz. These summer and winter adventures were filled with lots of socializing with close family friends.
Mom was not one to sit around. She volunteered at The Junior League, learned how to fly, took up snow skiing, water skiing, tap dance, tai chi, Pilates and gourmet cooking just to name a few. It was surprising that she found time to work. One of her endeavours was to create a travelling puppet show, Rupert's Puppets, with her good friend Billie Warriner. Mom also managed the UNICEF branch in Winnipeg until she retired.
A special thanks to her dear friends who helped her through her illness. Thanks to Dawn and Ian who were by her side from afar. Also to the wonderful staff at the Grace Hospice who gave comfort to BA as well as the rest of the family.
Flowers respectfully declined. If friends so desire, donations in Betty Ann and Ted's name can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Rest well Mom you will be missed.
