BETTY ANNE TURNER
(nee PATTERSON)
She will be forever missed by daughter Tracy (Terry), grandchildren, Matthew and Leah, son Rhett (Coreena), grandchildren, Jordyn, Tyler and Christopher (their mother Kathy): sisters, Trudy (Jim) and Donna (Brian); sister-in-law Sharon, brothers-in-law, Ron (Shirley) and Brett (Therese) and her many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by husband Bob in 2011; parents, Jim and Helen, parents-in-law, John and Thelma, brother Gord and her nephew Randy.
Growing up in Boissevain, she learned to crochet, knit and sew in 4-H. Educated at teachers' college, she spent a few years as a kindergarten teacher but then chose to stay home with her kids and took on the role caring for half of Charleswood in her home daycare.
Sweet Adelines was a passion of BA's, remaining a member for 25 years.
Her biggest joy was watching her grandchildren in their many activities whether it be on a soccer pitch, gymnasium, ball diamond, hockey rink or at a recital.
She would like to thank the medical professionals encountered while dealing with Cortico-Basal Syndrome as well the Portsmouth Residence staff members and table 22 for all their support. Special thanks to Vanessa for her caring ways. While the decision to utilize MAID was not an easy one, we are thankful for the service they provide.
A Celebration of Life will held on Saturday, May 11 at the Assiniboia Downs on the main floor from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A short, informal service will take place at 1:00 p.m. and the rest of the time will be for visiting and remembrances.
In lieu of flowers, if you choose, please make a donation to the Boissevain & Morton Foundation.

Went to Teacher Training with this lovely person and she was always so outgoing and happy. Met up with her a few years ago and she went out of her way to acknowledge our connection. Rest in Peace, Betty Anne. Condolences to family and friends. One special lady - Posted by: Trudy Johnson (Marshall) (fellow student TTC Brandon, 1964-1965)) on: Oct 10, 2020

To the Patterson and Turner Families. So sorry for your loss. When I was a little girl I remember admiring Betty Anne as she seemed so grown up to me. I also remember seeing the Patterson Girls together in later years and how they always looked like they were having so much fun. She leaves behind a lot of great memories. - Posted by: Roberta (Wilson) Johnson (Long ago neighbors ) on: May 07, 2019

Tracy and family, our deepest sympathy! We got to know her through fastball and enjoyed the time that our daughters and us had with her. Betty Anne was the Lightning Mama! She was the glue that held things together for our teams. Will always remember her smile and her clipboard in her hand at the diamonds. Hoping she is having a few cocktails with Bob right now and together they can watch over you and family! Donna & Phil Klopak - Posted by: Donna & Phil Klopak (Friend) on: May 07, 2019

Very sad to hear about Betty's passing. I remember her most from the full family gatherings that we used to have at the lake. Those were wonderful times shared with her and all my other cousins. Our deepest sympathies to her family. - Posted by: Dave Gordon (Cousin) on: May 05, 2019

I have many fond memories of Betty Anne from our singing days with Sweet Adelines. Betty Anne had an awesome bass voice, and she was always caring and kind. Sincere condolences to the family. Dixie-Lee Voll - Posted by: Dixie-Lee Voll (Friend) on: May 04, 2019

Betty Anne graciously agreed to look after our Matty “for a month” when we suddenly needed daycare when he was one year old. Six years later, Matty and Ryan celebrated her retirement from daycare with her, having become two more of her Charleswood “kids”. In her care, they grew and learned the most wonderful and fun life lessons. They made great friends. Ryan gained his “other brother” for life. Thanks to her love of children, always friendly and inviting care, they had plenty of giggles coming home with stories about their play-days and also about Bob. Pool parties, trick or treating, responsibilities, hair cuts, so much playing, Shadow, walking home for lunch, learning about curling and being tough, and “throwing them over the fence” to get to and from day care. Thank you for helping to raise our children. Matty Ryan Jen and Mike McDonald wish you can now rest peacefully- if Bob will let you :) - Posted by: Jennifer McDonald (Friend and neighbor ) on: May 04, 2019
