PETER STANLEY ZAMATIS
Survived by his son Terry (Connie) and granddaughter Amanda; sister-in-law Sharon (Larry) Taylor, Kristin, Kevin and Russell Taylor; Stacey and Curtis Benzick; and his sister Nantila, her family Linda, Susan and Mark.
Pete was predeceased by his wife Shirley, his parents, Peter and Leona, brother Joe, brother-in-law Ross and his wife Ruth Benzick, Shirley's parents, Mary and Harry Benzick.
He was born in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia and moved with his parents, brother and sister to Edrans, MB where they started their family farm.
Pete moved to Petersfield in 1951 and bought a trucking business which became Pete's Transfer, he hauled livestock, general freight and grain for the local farmers in the area. It was here he met Shirley Benzick and they married in 1957. He ran his transfer business until his retirement in 1996. In his retirement he helped his son Terry at the garage. He enjoyed visiting with the customers who came in.
When Terry was young, the family enjoyed camping, fishing and travelling around the province.
Pete also enjoyed learning how to use the computer and researching on the internet.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
We would like to thank the staff at Tudor House for the wonderful care and great friendships he made. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral. A family interment will take place at a later date.
