Thought
Tomorrow is not promised us,
So let us take today,
And make the very best of it –
The once we pass this way.
Just speak aloud the kindly thought –
Do the kindly deed.
Try to see and understand
Each fellow creature's need.
Tomorrow is not promised us –
Nor any other day,
So let us make the most of it,
The once we pass this way.

Mom found the late Jack Layton's words very meaningful:

Love is better than anger
Hope is better than fear
Optimism is better than despair.

We love you mom.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Sorry to hear about Mrs Russell's passing. She was a wonderful woman with a lot of wisdom and spunk. She would always speak kindly about her children and always so proud of them and her family. Her famous words that she repeated so often every week that I saw her was "When you make a decision always be truthful and most importantly be fair." She taught me a lot. Those words are what I live by... She was an inspiration to many people and to me. - Posted by: Mayling (Hairstylist) on: Sep 19, 2021

  • Mrs Russell was a truly great and kind lady I grew up across the street fton the Russell's. David was a good friend. I will always remember going over to call on David and always met with such kindness from mr and Mrs Russell. There was always lots of laughs and do many lucky times when we'd all share an orange crush And good old blackie the dog was always present. I remember so much how Mrs Russell would walk to Eddies store and if you were lucky she would have bought honey glazed doughnuts. She was a great lady and always was so kind to me and my family I cannot say enough nice things about Mr & Mrs Russell. Great people. I hope they are visiting Minaki Lodge in a special spot in heaven - Posted by: John tait (Friend and neighbour ) on: Sep 23, 2019
