JOYCE BAISAROWICZ

With deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Joyce Baisarowicz on May 7, 2019.
Leaving to mourn her passing are her husband Bernie; her brother Leon; her daughters, Cathy, Monica (Ray) and Susan (Clayton); her grandchildren, Jessica (Tyler), Kevin (Marlie), Christopher (Dayoung), Amanda, Trevor and Emily; and her most recent pride and joy, her great-grandson Owen.
Joyce had an admirable work ethic and worked hard her entire life. She retired from the Federal Government in 1995. On the day she retired her and Bernie drove straight to Albert Beach and began enjoying cottage life. She looked forward to the kids, grandkids and granddogs coming out to visit, and enjoyed the relaxing lifestyle of morning coffees and afternoon reading on the deck as well as planting her flowers.
Mom loved to travel. She enjoyed going across the line, to Vegas and to Mexico. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and she would often say that they were the best thing that ever happened to her. Mom lived a healthy lifestyle and enjoyed being physically active. That didn't stop her from treating her grandchildren to ice cream after barbeques at the cottage. She firmly believed and taught us that no matter what life brings us we were to put one foot in front of the other and keep on going.
Although our hearts are broken we will cherish so many precious memories shared with her: summers at Albert Beach, family trips, the "kikibird", dog stories which included rescuing them when they were lost, book reviews, Rainbow stage, one on one conversations, going out for a nice meal and homemade burgers.
Her strength and determination inspired us all and we will keep on putting one foot in front of the other for her.
We would like to thank the staff at River Ridge 2 and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

I hope wherever you are gramma that you
are surrounded by dogs, chocolate eggies
and lattes.

Forever in our hearts. Until we meet again. Love you Mom.

  • When I learned of Joyce's untimely passing earlier this week I was floored; I had just spoken to her the previous Saturday, she sounded a little tired but she was so happy and pleased with the care and attention she was receiving and very happy overall, it was a great conversation. Joyce and Bernie were married in August 1973, as were Linda and I and Joyce immediately accepted us into her extended circle of family and friends. We have remained so for over 45 years. Joyce was the best thing that ever happened to Bernie and he has revealed that to me on many occasions. Susan, Kathy, Monica - you and your families are in my thoughts; your care, concern and love for your Mom was always steadfast and strong as was Joyce's for you. Joyce, I know you would want to know, because you always asked, Yes the doggie is fine!! Mike - Posted by: Mike Bonnie (friend) on: May 11, 2019

  • Your beautifully written Passages notice said it all. Joyce's voice was mild, but her inner strength was amazing. She gave and received that strength from her much-loved Family members--who gave 200% support to Joyce and Bernie, especially through the most recent years of their health challenges. Joyce is now sipping tea, with an open book on her lap, cuddling Buster and her other pets, and is smiling with gratitude for the rich satisfying life you all gave her. With condolences and love, Linda - Posted by: Linda Parnell-Bonnie (friend) on: May 11, 2019
