EDNA RUTH FORREST
(nee MADDIGAN)
Born: April 30, 1930
Edna was born in Winnipeg and is lovingly remembered by her children, Gregory (Margo), Valerie (Ray) and Sandra (Allan); her grandchildren, Mercedes (Victor), Adam (Andrea), Owen and David and her great-grandchildren, Bella, Brody and Piper.
Edna was predeceased by her beloved and caring husband Jimmy in 2000.
In addition to her family she was supported by her church and faith and read the entire Bible several times.
She survived numerous health setbacks and lived each of her nine lives to the fullest.
She loved car rides and knitting so we all enjoyed many sweaters, scarves and pairs of double mitts.
Although she always cared about her appearance after many attempts and many returns she could never find the perfect pair of shoes.
Mom was incredibly generous with her family and friends. This carried forward to her oversize baking and meals. We all indulged in her massive butter tarts.
Never seeing a balloon she did not love, most recently she batted them in play with all of us children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at family events.
Thank you to Dr. Joshua and Dr. George and all the wonderful nursing staff at Grace Hospital which provided medical and comfort care for our mother and kindness and compassion for the family.
A funeral Mass attended by the family was held with Father Joe Newman, SJ as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation.
