"Smiley" was one of Concordia Village's characters. Could be seen as soon as March, catching the "rays" outside his apartment. Always had a joke or cheerful remark or " come back" when you spoke to him. After he left Concordia Village he was missed. My condolences to you family. On behalf of the current members of the Board of the Elmwood Giants Baseball Club, I offer collective condolences to his family and close friends. The Giants Club lost one of it's happiest players to play on our previous championship teams. Frank "Smiley" Krivak passed away peacefully last month with family by his side after a long battle with complications from diabetes. Given his nickname by the Free Press at the age of six, Frank thoroughly enjoyed his time on the baseball diamond, and his positivity will be sadly missed. - Posted by: Rick Dondo (Board member. My condolences to Smiley's family, friends and former teammates. Smiley was an admired teammate on championship midget and juvenile teams in the early '50s. RIP Smiley!! - Posted by: John Rendall (teammate and friend) on: May 19, 2019
