HEATHER MARIE GRIMES
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Jerry, and sons, Sean and Lonny.
Heather was born in Winnipeg on July 5, 1942 to parents, Edward and Mary. On April 8, 1967 she married Jerry Grimes and soon after gave birth to sons, Sean and Lonny. Heather worked as a secretary at Air Canada and the University of Manitoba where she retired at the age of 63. She enjoyed her retired life travelling, volunteering at Victoria Hospital and socializing with friends and family. Heather was a very gentle and generous spirit with a great positive attitude towards life, including during the duration of her cancer, always seeing the positive in every situation and a giggle to share with us. She will be dearly missed.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vital Parish, 1629 Pembina Highway in Winnipeg. A reception will follow at the church, with a private interment the day after.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Heather and I worked together at Air Canada. I was one of her bridesmaids when she wed Jerry. Despite the fact that I left Winnipeg many years ago, we remained friends through Christmas cards and emails. Heather was a loving and lovely person with a generous heart. I extend my sympathy to Jerry, Sean and Lonny for their loss and wish them strength during this difficult time. - Posted by: Carol Monteith (friend) on: Jun 08, 2019

I met Heather when we were in grade 8, she had a bubbly personality whereas I was shy and more reserved. She brought me out of my shell. We remained friends even though we went our separate ways, she was always there for me. My heartfelt condolences to Jerry, Lonny and Sean who have lost a beautiful soul. I will send a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in her memory. - Posted by: Valerie Sutherland (Friend since grade 8) on: Jun 01, 2019
