JOHN (JIM) SAGE
January 19, 1937 - May 29, 2019
He was predeceased by his mother Georgina, father Patrick, son Derek, and brothers, Neil, Thomas, Bernard, Charlie and Ronnie.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife Marilyn, sons, Richard (Jessica), John of Winnipeg and Kevin (Robin) of Rimby, AB, daughters, Debbie and Cheryl of Winnipeg, Charlene (Rob) of Stonewall, Jeanette (Kevin) of Matlock, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim was born in Glensandfield, Ontario and in his teens moved to Toronto. There he met and married Marilyn with whom he shared the next 62 years. In 1974 they moved to Winnipeg where he worked for Reimers Express Lines for 28 years until his retirement. Throughout the years he was also kept busy with his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who kept him on his toes. He was Mr. Fix-it and always had any tool or part to get the job done. He was full of wisdom, gave the best advice and always had just the right words to say. No matter the problem we always called Dad.
He will be sadly missed and we will forever cherish the memories he left us with.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and doctors of both the emergency and especially the ICU at the Grace Hospital for the compassion they showed our family.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue with interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
