ELIZABETH DIANE HALL
(nee KINSEY)
December 27, 1937 - May 30, 2019
To cherish her memory, Mom leaves behind her husband of 61 years Ron; children, Martyn (Bobbi), Kathy (Alvin), Carolyn (Pat), Kristina (Kevin), and Darlene (Gary); grandchildren, Dave (Beth), Suzanne (Andrew), Adam (Taylor), Veronica, Giselle, Elena, Nic, Scott and Maddy; great-grandchildren, Abby, Oliver and one on the way. Also left to mourn her loss is her brother Gerry; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Pauline and Pete. Nieces, Lynn and Karen will also fondly remember her. Mom was predeceased by son Raymond and daughter Michelle.
On a cold wintry night in Winnipeg, MB, Mom came into the world. A happy baby that was adored by her uncles and grandmother in Calgary. From there, with her brother and parents, they lived in several places in BC. In 1957 she met and married Dad.
Dad's military career kept them in Europe where the children started to arrive. They settled in Gimli with four children and then added two more.
Between helping Dad build his business, raising children and providing service to the community, Mom never stopped. She loved her committees and all that they tried to achieve. She was also an avid knitter, seamstress and anything that kept her hands busy. She was a fiercely proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
These words do not do Mom justice. Mom was the thread that kept the family fabric together. We are devastated but she taught us to be strong in times of tragedy. A memorial service for this special woman will be held at Gimli Lutheran Church, Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
We are enormously grateful to the emergency services in Gimli, Gimli Hospital, STARS Ambulance, and the Health Sciences Centre personnel. Mom was treated with the utmost dignity and level of care.
Mom was a dedicated volunteer with the Seniors Resource Centre in Gimli, MB. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to this very worthy cause.
