March 9, 1954 - June 6, 2019
Frenchie was a loving husband, dad, brother, uncle and a friend to all.
Frenchie is survived by his loving wife, Lori, of 41 years; daughter Nicole; and son Harley. He is also survived by his brothers, Jean-Guy, Bertrand and Joel and sisters, Fernand, Gertrude, Monette, Madelaine and their families in Grand Falls, New Brunswick. Frenchie will be missed by his in-laws, Walter and Betty Stevens and Joan and Morris Kustiak, many nieces and nephews, and lots of really great friends. Frenchie was a special godfather to Rylee, Chelsea, Jesse and Tyson.
Frenchie was predeceased by his loving mother Eveline, and his father, Arthur.
Frenchie had a strong work ethic that began at a young age and was present throughout his working life. He was a self-taught jack-of-all trades and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Frenchie loved life, his family, camping, semis, cars and trucks (the older the better)! Frenchie and Lori enjoyed their trips to Sturgis, Mexico, and Hawaii. He also took many trips with his "Harley" brothers including a chicken run to Moosomin for the weekend; Beartooth Mountain in Montana, and his all-time favourite to Seattle, Washington. He made many memories with friends and loved ones over the years, and we will keep these memories tucked within our hearts.
After two neurosurgeries in nine months, weeks of radiation, months of chemotherapy and finally a clinical trial, Frenchie succumbed to the vicious Glioblastoma that he had valiantly battled.
On Frenchie's behalf, Lori would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff of the Gimli Hospital for the End of Life Comfort Care that was provided to Frenchie throughout his final days. The family also wishes to thank everyone for their love and support throughout Frenchie's illness including Dr. C. Kazina (Health Sciences Centre); Dr. Kakamanu and Dr. C. Harlos (CancerCare); and Dr. A. Adegbesan, Dr. S. Turner (Gimli).
As per Frenchie's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frenchie's name to the Wheels of Hope, Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
And now, my love, it is time to take your
last ride. Route 66 is waiting for you
on the other side.

Our deepest sympathy to Lori, Nicole, Harley and all of the extended family. We knew Frenchie as a very loving and kind man, always willing to help out. As we watched all of the children grow he was always there to offer advice, kindness, patience and to teach them. It's hard to imagine our next trip without you French, we had so many places to still see. The trip to Seattle was a favorite of mine as well. Our trips to Sturgis were second to none and I still picture you standing next to Sitting Bull's monument on our way back from Beartooth. Fish fry's at the cabin won't be the same anymore and just everyday life has changed. We will miss the person we knew and the journey we shared. I will think about you every ride I take. I will miss you old friend. We had a lot of good times and rides together. Hawaii was one of my fav. Moosomin another. My all time fav is when you, Lori and Colie came to Lindsay’s wedding in Mexico. A true friend. I have many memories of you. Helping Polly and I build the house was another true friend job. You would never say no to anyone who asked for help. When Polly and I do Route 66 you will be in my thoughts for the whole trip. Love ya Frenchie.
