ELIZABETH (NOREEN) NORMA WETYK
(nee HORBATUK)
June 19, 1935 - May 17, 2019

It is with great sadness we say goodbye to our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. After a lengthy illness and short stay in the Palliative Care Unit of St. Boniface Hospital, where she received the best of care, she passed away peacefully on May 17, 2019.
She was predeceased by her husband Rudy Wetyk, her parents, Norman and May (Pinky) Horbatuk, her sister Shirley, and brother Larry. She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Rhonda (Ross), Curtis (Gloria) and Brian (Nerissa), her brother Hank (Sandy); her eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Nathan, Laura, Lindsay, Sarah, Sam, Harvey and Nichole; and her three great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Timothy and Audrianna. She has also left behind her beloved cat Charlie who was a great comfort to her over the years.
Noreen was born in MacGregor, Manitoba and moved around in that part of Manitoba until eventually ending up in Portage La Prairie where, while working for the bank, she met and married Rudy who was in the military. They moved many times during their married life including two tours in Europe. Manitoba was home and so after retirement they settled back in Winnipeg.
An informal gathering with light refreshments will take place on Wednesday, June 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Mosaic Event Centre, 1006 Nairn Avenue, Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to CancerCare Manitoba would be most appreciated.
