STEPHANIE MARIA EUNSON
Left to love and cherish her memory are her children, Rob, Kathy McGorman (Terry Thompson), Ron (Marj Mark), Rick (Susanna Stjepovic) and son-in-law Greg Hooper; grandchildren, Kristyn (Brendan), Scott (Lauren) and Jaclyn (Mike) McGorman, Samara (Jon), Aron and Nicole Eunson, Dylan (Alexis) and Kalie Hooper; and great-granddaughter Kelsey Machado-McGorman. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Jean Eunson, and many nieces and nephews.
Steffie was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Walter Toporek, husband Andy and his siblings, daughter Chris Hooper, and brother Walter Toporek.
Steffie was born in St Boniface on September 2, 1938. She lived her early life in Point Douglas until moving to Norwood as a teenager, where she lived the rest of her life. She attended Holy Ghost School, Holy Cross School and graduated from St. Mary's Academy with a commercial certificate in stenography. Mom worked as a stenographer in a law firm until her children were born.
Steffie married Andy, her teenage sweetheart, on July 20, 1957. Mom always put our family first, she loved with all her heart, and whenever we needed anything we could count on her. Mom was very proud of her family and actively supported, encouraged and watched her children, and then her grandchildren, in our many activities. Mom volunteered in our school and in our activities; she was one of our Girl Guide leaders. Her greatest joy this last year was seeing her great-granddaughter Kelsey grow into a happy and healthy toddler.
Steffie wasn't just a great mom and grandma, she was a great person. She was instrumental in starting the Holy Cross Food Depot. She was a long-time member of the Holy Cross C.W.L. She enjoyed curling into her late 70s with the St. Vital and then Ft. Garry Ladies' Curling Leagues. Mom enjoyed going out for lunch with her many friends.
We would like to thank Dr. Popowich and the staff at CancerCare and on 6A West at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion, especially Suzanne. We would also like to thank Fr. Tomy Chittinapilly and Fr. John McKenzie for visiting and supporting for our mom.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 252 Dubuc St. Fr. Tomy Chittinapilly presiding and Fr. John McKenzie will concelebrate.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holy Cross Kitchen/Hall Renovation Fund or CancerCare Manitoba.

Sending much love to all of the family. Aunty Steffie was a force of love and poured her heart into her family including my dad and my family even though we were so far away. I hope she is at peace now and knows that she was loved. - Posted by: Rebecca Toporek (niece) on: Jun 20, 2019
