FRANCES DIANA BAIRD MATHEWSON
She was born on March 16, 1941 to her loving parents, Elizabeth and Frank Mathewson, and was a well-loved baby sister to Elizabeth Jane.
Diana was brought up in Winnipeg and educated at Balmoral Hall School. She was widely known for her love of horses and rode for many years. Diana was also a skilled bowler and won numerous tournaments at The Winnipeg Winter Club, at which she was a longtime member. She was a passionate supporter of Winnipeg and enjoyed joining with others to cheer on our home teams, in particular the Blue Bombers.
Diana was outgoing and enthusiastic and wanted to be part of whatever was going on to share smiles, jokes and laughter. She was always cheerful and energetic, and delighted in meeting new people. Diana spent the later years of her life at Thorvaldson Care Centre, where she kept everyone entertained with her distinctive sense of humour and fun-loving character, and at Poseidon Long Term Care Centre.
The family would like to thank the staff of Thorvaldson, in particular the owners, Herman, Jocelyn and Karen, former Activity Director Margret, and Support Worker Mallika, for their love and care over the years.
