RAYMOND ZASTRE

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Zastre on June 12, 2019, at the age of 67 with his family by his side.
Ray is survived by his wife Donna; children, Kristopher (Randi), Aimee (Colin Finney), Chris Kiyon and Tracey Bouma. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Kolton, Kaedon, Ryler and Charlotte. Ray leaves to mourn his siblings, Edward (Francine), Dave (Florence), Marcel (Alvina), Vern, Annette (Bob) McKinnon, Denise (Rick) Treyturik; and his brother-in-law and
sister-in-law, Tom Krywyczka and Glenda Burrows. He was predeceased by his parents, Lina and Joseph; his siblings, Arletta, Maurice, Paul, Verna, Lucille and Donald. Ray will also be remembered by some special people in his life, Vera Ponevas, Sheldon Monahan, Sharon Dufault, Russ Clifton, his numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Ray was raised in the Ste. Rose Du Lac area. He was a plumber by trade and worked for CN Rail for 22 years. He was a kind, loving and generous man. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. One place you could always find Ray was in his backyard where he could spend hours watching the birds. He also always made sure the birds and deer who visited his yard were well fed and taken care of.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on June 29, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in the backyard that Ray loved to spend his time in and host family and friends. For details please contact the family or Glen Eden Funeral Home at 204-338-7111.
A big thank you to Tom Krywyczka, the kind and wonderful people at Cancer Care Manitoba and Wheels Of Hope who helped Ray these last few months.
Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Wheels of Hope.

For Ray there were no strangers,
just friends he had not met.
