ANN ADELE PALEY
(nee KOWAL)
November 1, 1927 - June 13, 2019
Ann will be sadly missed by her children, Ron (Qiuyan), Jo-Ann and Janice; her grandchildren, Philip, Melissa, Angie (Dwayne) and Derek (Katherine); her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Daniel, Jasmine, Cedar and Jasper; and nieces, nephews and friends.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Walter; her son-in-law David; her parents, Anna and Andrew; her sisters, Sophie (Bill) and Mary (Norman); and brother-in-law Joey (Vicky).
Ann was born in the farmhouse at Two Creeks, MB. She was a true nature's child and loved farm life. She was "Annie" to her school chums, where she attended Ross School.
Ann moved to Winnipeg at age 16 to attend secretarial school. During a weekend excursion to Winnipeg Beach, she met and fell in love with Walter. They married in 1949. They were a match made in Heaven, and raised their family first living on Rosser Road and then on Burrows Avenue.
Ann was a devoted, caring mother and grandmother and was an unending source of strength for her family. Ann also taught her family to appreciate nature as she loved to garden. Meals were always prepared from fresh produce she had grown and she made dessert daily.
Ann and Walter travelled regularly with their children, to the farm in Virden, MB and the children experienced the joys of farm life.
During these years she worked diligently, part time, as a school secretary for the Winnipeg School Division.
Ann also raised her granddaughter Melissa, showing that she truly was a special grandma.
Ann was very involved in the Catholic Church where she made many close friends. First St. Peter's Church, then St. Theresa's Church. Many thanks to Father Art Seaman for his friendship over the years.
Thank you to neighbours for their support and thank you to Golden West Nursing Home for wonderful care.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at St. Theresa's Church, 3597 Main St., West St. Paul.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in Ann's honour.

Dear Ron, Jo-Ann, Janice and all your family, I'm so very sorry to hear about your mother. Please know I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. It brings back so many good memories of times our families shared together...your parents and my parents were such good friends and that carried on with us kids all growing up together in the north end. I know Ron and my brother Greg are still very close to this day. I'm here in B.C. now, but I want you to know that I am thinking of you and keeping you close in my heart. My thoughts are with you, as are my tears. Sending my sincerest condolences....Joanne Kostyra xo - Posted by: Joanne Kostyra (longtime family friend from Sisler high school days) on: Jun 28, 2019

Dear Paley family, extending my deepest sympathy and sadness on the passing of your dear mother. Please know that my thoughts are with you at this very sad and difficult time. RIP '...What mattered most of all was the dash between those years. For that dash represents all the time that they spent on earth... For it matters not, how much we own, the cars...the house...the cash. What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.' Linda Ellis.
