MORRIS (MOE) SWINTAK
1927 - 2019
Dad was born on August 19, 1927 in Ethelbert, Manitoba to parents, Kasko and Olena. He was one of 10 children.
He is survived by his three children, Debbie (Omer) Carriere, Terry (Jane) Swintak and Susan (Rick) Goett. He also had six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Dad was predeceased by his daughter Brenda.
Dad married Inez Hokanson in 1954. Together they raised the four children. They were divorced in 1973. Dad joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1953 as an air frame mechanic. Prior to retiring from the air force he began working at Westwood Esso and continued to do so until his second retirement in the late 1980s. The last owner he worked for, Harvey Warner, was not only an employer but a great friend who helped dad through some tough times and we wish to thank him.
From the late 80s until the early 2000s dad enjoyed spending his winters in Sun City, Arizona enjoying golfing and making many new friends. Dad's last few years were spent living at the Kiwanis Courts on Ness Avenue where he enjoyed sharing meals with a new group of friends.
Thanks to the staff at Grace Hospital 3 North and Deer Lodge 4 West for taking such good care of dad over the last few months. Also thanks to the staff at the Kiwanis Courts for making dad's last few years so enjoyable.
In keeping with Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date.
