Condolences & Memories (13 entries)

  • Leslie! I went in search of obituaries for fellow residents of my mother’s. My mother died in April of 2019. She was in Pembina Place nursing home and I was thinking about all the people who she hung out with in her two years there. Especially during these strange times. I was shocked to see Bob’s name in the obituaries and the birthdate made me pause and read on. We live in Kenora now and during my many hours of ‘isolation’ I decided to purge my old journals. This last week I also read about Bob and Leslie and their new relationship. I am so sad to read this news about Bob’s illness and passing. By now it has been a few months. I hope that you and your family are finding time to remember and think about all the good years. - Posted by: Darlene Hiebert (High School friend of Leslie’s) on: Apr 11, 2020

  • Financial Planning associations started in Winnipeg, Bob and his colleagues had & have trusted relationships with clients & other professionals. Heard just yesterday at a client's of Bob's too-soon cancer & passing. My visits from my Ottawa office to Winnipeg office can perhaps happen around Bob's Celebration of Life to share in a tribute. RIP Bob, condolences to the very many who now miss you a lot. - Posted by: Denzil FEINBERG CFP R.F.P. (Financial Professions) on: Nov 26, 2019

  • Dear Leslie, Ryan & Graeme, we have no words to express our sadness at your loss. Bob was truly one of the most alive people we have ever known, so this seems unfathomable. His guidance through the years has left us always feeling secure in our path and in our future. That has been an extraordinary gift. Please know you have all been in our thoughts and prayers. Wishing you peace and comfort in this time. Dan & Robin - Posted by: Dan & Robin Schaeffer (Clients ) on: Jul 03, 2019

  • Very sad to know that "Bob" passed away. feel like loosing a family member. For a long time he was taking care of my pension and and all my money I could save. He was the man one can rely and fully trust. I remember once we shared our impressions of the book we both read and admired: Angela's Ashes by Frank McCort. As it happened "Bob" had some relatives in the city that was portrayed in the book at some length. He visited that city and related to me hilarious story about that visit and the city. Which was very similar to the book's description. We both had good time at the supposed to be business meeting. Dear Leslie, my very deep condolences to you and your family. Hard to find the right words to express my sadness. Raisa Moroz - Posted by: Raisa Moroz (Client since 1990) on: Jul 02, 2019

  • Leslie and family, I was deeply saddened to hear of Bob’s recent passing. I know we haven’t kept in touch in recent years, but I always remember his warm smile and genuine interest in how things were going when I would run into him downtown. I remember how he absolutely adored you Leslie. Hang onto your wonderful memories as they will comfort you in the days and weeks ahead. I know this, as I too lost my husband this year. Wishing you all my very deepest sympathies. If I can offer you any support whatsoever, please reach out. - Posted by: Val Kuhtey (Stephen) (Friend) on: Jun 23, 2019

  • Leslie.....I am very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a good friend to me in high school at Grant Park. Of course as is very common, we lost touch after high school. May all your years together bring you comfort as you mourn the loss of your partner. "Blessed be those that mourn....for they shall be comforted."
