DRAGUTIN (DRAGO) TKALEC
February 24, 1930 - June 19, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father, husband, grandfather and friend Drago Tkalec on June 19, 2019 at the age of 89 years old. Drago passed peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital where he was surrounded by his loved ones as they held his hands while he took his final breath.
Drago will be deeply missed by his wife Stefanija, his children, Janet (Trevor) and Kris (Donna), granddaughters, Casey and Kristen, and many other family and friends.
Drago was born in Croatia and moved to Canada when he was 28 years old. He began his career as a self-employed carpenter, eventually retiring at CP Rail. Drago was an active member of the Croatian community in Winnipeg, specifically with St. Nicholas Tavelich Croatian Parish which he helped construct over 50 years ago.
A celebration of Drago will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 25 2019, at 10:00 a.m. located at 4477 Main Street in West St. Paul. The service will be led by Father Gary Killen, followed by the interment and reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
