MOON CHAE PARK
1933 - 2019
Dad was born in Kwang Ju, South Korea and was the patriarch of the family of six siblings. He was a soldier in the Korean military and survived the Korean War. He was a great man of discipline, hard work, and tenaciousness.
Dad immigrated to Winnipeg from South Korea with his family in 1974. He worked in the trade industry as a welder for a number of years and then went on to become a small business owner. Language was always a barrier having immigrated to a foreign country; however, he always did his best to communicate and express himself.
He was a deeply religious man and was an active elder in the South Korean Presbyterian church where he served his community with passion. He loved his family and friends and would pray for them for hours daily - sending words of encouragement in any way he could. Dad was always very focused and disciplined with daily exercise. Keeping healthy and active was very important to him. He lived independently and had the support and respect of his friends and community.
Dad, we love you and miss you. We thank you for all the sacrifices you made to bring us to Canada.
You are now with Mom in Heaven. We take comfort in knowing that you are together again.
We would like to thank the Winnipeg paramedics and St. Boniface Hospital for all their hard work and efforts.
