NANCY ELIZABETH (BROOMFIELD) FORD
September 21, 1933 - June 27, 2019
Born in Tilt Cove, Labrador - Nancy would have said "in the middle of nowhere".

Remembering our beautiful loving Nancy.

Nancy will always be remembered for her warm heart and the popularity she gained at her Sturgeon Creek home. She shared her fishing and hunting passion with her late husband Ron (Tyrone) Harder who predeceased her June 13, 2002. Nancy and Ron spent many camping/fishing trips at favourite lakes throughout Manitoba, and always talked about Turtle Mountain Park. Her love for nature and animals was overwhelming. Jasper, Alberta presented an amazing adventure for Nancy walking at Athabasca Falls spotting wildlife off the highway with an unforgettable grin on her face.
Nancy was a crafter of many sorts. She proudly showed off her moccasins she had handmade and bragged about how her grandfather had cut an Igloo into an entire house in less than half an hour. Nancy enjoyed a lifestyle with simplicity, no fuss or frills, and was proud of her Inuit roots. If you were ever to get lost you wanted to be with Nancy. She knew the way.
Her competitive skills from catching the first fish against Ron was most evident as she became comfortable with her new friends and staff members at Sturgeon Creek. Over the years she won several medals in their senior games, volunteered throughout the facility and greeted many with her caring smile. Nancy's words were always wisely chosen with a little joke behind her expressions if something didn't agree with her. She made everyone laugh with her. Her intentions were always good but never wanted to be a bother to anyone.
Nancy is now reunited with her beloved husband and her many discomforts she was experiencing have ended.
Her friends are many. She will be a Legacy in her own expression of speech as she could sling a rhyme of words together quite effectively... The families she has left behind with miss her but the memories she has provided are endless. Her grin will sparkle when you least expect it.
Nancy has generously donated to many charities in her lifetime. We hope you will consider her favourite charity, the ALS Society, which personally affected her late husband Ron (TY) her Sweetheart...Together at Last!
A gathering for Nancy will be held on Wednesday, July 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Sturgeon Creek II in the Theater Room.
