JOSEPH ANTOINE CAMPEAU
February 5, 1932 - June 15, 2019
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Luc and Alphonsine (Lachance) Campeau; his siblings, Simone (Marcel) Lagace, Ted (Aline) Campeau, Madeleine (Bill) Denysuik and Charles Campeau; brother-in-law Rene Provost, and son-in-law Donald Gnutel.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Irene (Boily), his children, Jacqueline (Abdou) Daoudi, Michelle Gnutel and Bernard Campeau; his grandchildren, Tarik, Jamil and Nadia Daoudi, Luke and Amy Gnutel; his sisters, Lucille Provost, Lorraine (John) Mysak, and his brother Aurele (Louise) Campeau.
Born and raised in St. Norbert, it was always home. Family was always first! Joe was known by his kindness and ability to make everyone he met feel welcome and special. It was this gift that made him the successful salesman he was in the hardware store and in real estate. Continuously uplifing and encouraging, he was a well respected, hard working community leader.
A private family service was held on June 21, 2019 at St. Norbert Catholic Church. Special thank you to Father Leo Couture for officiating.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Actionmarguerite St. Boniface for their kindness and compassionate care.
Donations may be made in memory of Joseph Campeau to Actionmarguerite - St. Boniface or St. Boniface Hospital Foundation's Cardiac program.
We love you and we miss you!

So sorry to hear of the passing of Joe, he was one of the kindest people I knew. My pepere (Camille Dorge) and Joe were very close friends and he was a frequent guest at my grandparents home on St. Pierre in St. Norbert. I have fond childhood memories in St. Norbert and Joe is most definitely among them. Sixteen years ago my family moved to Campeau Street, just a few houses down from Joe and his wife and it was lovely to see him regularly, usually on his riding lawnmower. As I write this now I can see "the Campeau house" from my living room and I am heart broken to know that I won't have the opportunity to run into Joe again. He was a dear friend to our family and I am so saddened to hear of his passing. Joe was one of a kind and will be missed. - Posted by: Kyla Dorge-Ray (Friend of family) on: Jul 29, 2019

Mr. Campeau was a good man. Even though he was suffering, you could see how he was forcing himself not to show and smile all the time. Thanks to his wife, daughters. You really take care of your loved one (dad and husband). I didn’t have the chance to know you a long time but I admire your family. Du courage. Joe was quite a character, he was very straight forward and always ready to make a provocative verbal jab. I have fond memories of him while growing up in St. Norbert. My parents were good friends of the family and Dad bought his first tv from Joe. My cousin Guy and I dropped by to see him at his insurance office many times during our adult years. One time it took two weeks and various visits for Guy and Joe to negotiate a fair price for Joe's lawn tractor. All the fun in the art of the deal. We ran into Joe and Irene on numerous times in Mazatlan and then Puerto Vallarta in our later years and would share a trip to Bucieras or a walk for a Micky D's breakfast. I'll miss you Joe. - Posted by: Paul Tetreault (Family friend) on: Jul 06, 2019
