Viola grew up in the North End and her first job was working in her parents' grocery store on Burrows Avenue. During the war, she was employed by McDonald Aircraft and later, by Naleway Catering. In 1964 she began work at Canada Safeway and remained there until retirement. Viola loved travelling, cooking and spending time with family. Her 20 years at Columbus House brought her much joy as she made many friends and was able to participate in various activities with bingo and Friday tea being her favourites.
A special thank you to the staff of River East Personal Care Home who took good care of her, especially the aides who looked after her daily needs and made her laugh.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Highway #1 East at Navin Road.
