LEONIE FRASER
(née BEAUDRY)
June 19, 1946 - July 22, 2019

It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Léonie Fraser, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Léonie was predeceased by her parents, Léon and Irène Beaudry and her daughter Monalie Bouchard.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Denys, daughter Michelle, son Marc (Tracy), son-in-law Mario and her grandchildren, Marc Jr., Chanelle, Jade (Kingsley), Brendyn and Levi, and her siblings.
Over the years she worked with children as a teacher's assistant and volunteered with the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
In her retirement years, she enjoyed spending time with her friends, doing crafts, baking and tending to her gardens at the cottage in Lac du Bonnet.
Cremation has taken place and a private family interment was held.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Léonie's memory can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Remembering you is easy,
we do it every day.
Missing you is a heartache
that never goes away.

Condolences & Memories (14 entries)

  • I was a student at Ecole Provencher some 20 years ago. I still look back on my time spent there, and Mme. Fraser, fondly. I often found myself in the copy room with her, making copies and talking about life. We would dance in rhythm to the sound of the copy machine. She was a beautiful soul and had a part in shaping who I am today. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. May she live on in the light that she shone upon others. Merci, Mme. Fraser, for being a safe place for a little girl who never really fit in. - Posted by: Bryanne Koehn (Student) on: Oct 30, 2019

  • There are no words strong enough to describe the grief and disbelief I felt when I read Leonie's obituary. To me, this woman was invincible and a super-woman in every way. I am so thankful that I came across her when I worked with her at Ecole Provencher. We shared many good times together, and her laugh was absolutely infectious. She picked me up in her black convertible one summer to go to Liliane's cottage, and on the way there she was wearing her sunglasses, baseball cap, and grooving to "Boot Scootin' Boogie". I hope that's what you're up to now, Leonie. I will never forget you. Heartfelt condolences to all her family. - Posted by: Lynne Johannson (Friend, Co-Worker, Partner in Crime) on: Jul 30, 2019

  • Leonie was a great worker with a wicked sense of humour and very well-appreciated at École Provencher. She will undoubtedly be missed by many. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. - Posted by: Jean Pierre Weilbrenner (Workmate) on: Jul 29, 2019

  • Deepest condolences to Denys, Michelle and Marc. So many fond memories growing up next door to the Frasers. It was always nice seeing Léonie in the halls of École Provencher when I was young and then again for my children. RIP Léonie, love Suzy-Q ❤️ - Posted by: Suzanne Beaulieu (Neighbour) on: Jul 29, 2019

  • Sincere condolences to Léonie’s family. Léonie was such a wonderful, caring person and all the kids looked up to her whenever she would come as a sub replacement at École Guyot! Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers R.I.P. Léonie! - Posted by: Aline Boisjoli (Friend and former colleague) on: Jul 29, 2019

  • Denys and Leonie and their children were our neighbors from 1975 to 1984 and we enjoyed so many good times together. I'm so sorry that we lost touch over the years. I always thought I had so much time to reconnect and now it is too late. Denys, Michelle and Marc, please accept our heartfelt sympathy for your loss. • Leonie and I grew up on De La Morenie Street in St. Boniface and spent hours together talking about boys, smoking forbidden cigarettes, walking to school, hanging out at each others' homes, and generally experiencing the best of adolescent years. I was so thrilled to be maid of honour at Leonie and Denys’ wedding. I was distressed to hear of Leonie’s death and know that her family feels her loss immensely. - Posted by: Paulette Lavack, White Rock, BC (Friend) on: Jul 28, 2019

I reconnected with her just 4-5 weeks ago on Facebook. She will be sadly missed! I will treasure the memories of her always! I also want to extend my sympathies on the loss of Monalie! Take care! - Posted by: Liliane Plexman (Pilotte) (Co-Worker/Friend) on: Jul 27, 2019

  • My deepest sympathy to Leonie’s family. This announcement came as a shock to me. We had worked together for several years at École Provencher and Leonie was one of the greatest people I have known. Never one to complain, always smiling, joking or pulling a prank on a colleague, Leonie made the work day much more pleasant. She was a hard worker who got along with everyone. She worked well under pressure and she really seemed to enjoy her work environment. Leonie was a key member of our office staff and she ensured that everyone’s needs were met. She was such a kind soul who just loved her family so much. Au revoir Léonie. - Posted by: Raymond Poirier (Friend and former colleague) on: Jul 27, 2019
