IRENE STEVENSON
Irene will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her devoted and loving husband Rob. He was her true partner, champion caregiver, soul mate and the love of her life. By her loving and beloved sons: Rob (Lindsay) and children, Mack and Shae; Michael (Rochelle) and daughter Mia. Irene's grandchildren were her treasures.
Irene had a very special place in her heart for her loving sister Kathy, and she had a special friendship with her 'sister' Patty and her husband Wayne. She will be remembered warmly by her dear aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws who she was so happy to have in her life.
She was predeceased by her loving mother, father-in-law and sister-in-law.
Irene followed her dreams and became a teacher. It was her calling and she was proud of her 30 plus years at St. Andrews School. She was so grateful for meeting so many special friends and sharing so many happy times.
She had a love of travel and was so happy with her trips to Mexico, Dominican Republic, Greece, Paris, Hawaii and the East Coast of Canada. Her favourite spot in paradise was Puerto Vallarta. Her favourite place in the world was Home and their cottage at West Hawk Lake; many a happy gathering was shared there with those she loved.
Irene will be remembered for her strength and bravery, for her kindness and for her caring, generous and loving spirit.
Irene felt very blessed for her beautiful life, her faith, her family and friends, and her Fabulous Fridays. She always knew she was surrounded with Love.
"Wherever a beautiful soul has been. There is a trail of beautiful memories."
A Celebration of Life and Love will be held on Friday, August 2 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Irene's memory can be made to the ALS Society at www.ALS.mb.ca.

Here it is 3 years after her passing and hardly a day goes by we don’t think of Irene and the family. We had so many wonderful times together. She’ll be so happy to see how Rob has managed the family and the grandchildren. He reminds me so much of his Dad Les and how great he was with our daughters Toby and Sherri. If you happen to read this Rob we’re always just a phone call away. All the Best! Bill, Judy, Toby & Sherri ❤️❤️❤️ - Posted by: Bill & Judy (Friends) on: Jul 26, 2022

Here we are 2 years since Irene’s passing and it still hurts us every time we think of their wedding, or the get togethers at the lake or our homes, or the Paris and Greece trip or the East Coast trip. And the list goes on and on. If you should read this Rob or any of the family we’re with you as the second Anniversary comes on Monday. You’ve all been extremely strong in your approach to Irene’s passing and it must be a very difficult to deal with. Try to think of all of the wonderful times you had with her and cherish them as they can never be taken away from you. That’s what we hold on to. We’re with you all, and All the Best! Bill & Judy❤️❤️ - Posted by: Bill & Judy Keegan (Friends) on: Jul 23, 2021

We met Irene and Rob through mutual friends, Judy and Bill Keegan. They were wonderful folks who lived good and honourable lives. Irene, Rob and family have been in our thoughts and prayers since she was diagnosed with ALS last fall. We admired her strength and perseverance as she suffered through all of this. Her husband, Rob, was indeed her rock. God bless the Stevenson family. May you continue on the legacy left by your dear Irene and savour all the good memories you have of your lives together. - Posted by: Bill and Careyn Head (Friends) on: Aug 02, 2019

My deepest sympathy to you Rob, Robbie, Micheal and all your families. I have known Irene to be an exceptional wife and mother by making sure her boys looked their best as well as best behaved. May happy times spent together lessen your grief. (Mary & Allen) - Posted by: Mary Marcinkow (Friend ) on: Jul 30, 2019

My deepest sympathy in the lose of Irene. Although I only met her a few times, I remember her as a lovely person. My memory of her is watching this beautiful rosy-cheeked woman first thing in the morning, taking a dive off the dock into the refreshing waters of Misty Bay. Please accept my condolences. May she rest in eternal peace. - Posted by: Brenda Leblanc (Friend of Dick & Arlene) on: Jul 30, 2019

With deep sadness, we remember Irene during this time for her dedication to family, her employ, and most of all husband Rob. She was a bright light in the lives of many and that will continue. Her happy laughter during Happy Hour @ WHL will never be forgotten. May the ghosts of the passed be at her side now to protect & guide her in the here after. We should have been so fortunate for her short company. - Posted by: Dick Arleen Knowles & family (Cousin though marriage) on: Jul 29, 2019
