Keith will be lovingly remembered by his children, Chris, Angela and Cyndi. Papa will also be forever remembered by his seven grandchildren, TJ, Chloe, Robert, Audrey, Hazel, Isabelle and Thor.
Keith will also be missed by his mum Roberta, his sisters, Mandy and Caron, brother Frazer, Uncle Terry, and his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Keith, born in England, made in Canada, arrived in 1970 with his parents and younger brother. He grew up in London, ON, where, in 1976, joined the army. He served with the 1st Hussars and Royal Canadian Dragoons. In 1982, he became an Intelligence Operator until he retired in 1991. After retirement, he started a private investigation company, was an avid photographer and was one of Canada's first Federal Auxiliary Constable's with the R.C.M.P. In 1998, Keith graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Education. He then worked for River East Transcona School Division where he loved teaching grade 6, 7, 8 math and science. Keith would go out of his way to help someone who was having a hard time, needed to talk or wanted some sound advice.
Keith's smile and sense of humour will be greatly missed.

To the Rankins: Ang, Cyndi, Chris, and of course, little bro Frazer, I am so So sorry for your loss, only finding out yesterday that Keith passed away. As you know Keith and I were very close friends and spent many good times together. Keith was one of the key people who hired me into the "trade" and who welcomed me back to Canada, meeting me ar the airport, after my tour in Bosnia. He was also one of the most supportive, compassionate friends, offering incredible support to me after my brother Wally died in 1990 in Oxford House. I am devastated by the loss, but will do tobacco ceremony for him, as it's never too late in the Spirit World. I love you Keith and never will forget you. I never met you, though we spoke about family history over the internet. I told you somethings, you told me others. Thank you for taking the time out of your valuable days to do so. It was helpful and appreciated. RIP Keith. My sympathies go to your family and friends with good wishes all the way from the UK and distant family members here. - Posted by: Gary Reed (Distant cousin) on: Aug 02, 2019

Uncle Keith was one of my heroes. The life he led was amazing. The service he gave his country endless. With Keith you could talk to him about anything and he would not judge. Loyalty to him was everything and it is a Rankin trait we’re loyal till the end. Family was his world and he would move mountains to help and when I use the term family that could be blood or the brothers and sisters he gained in his service years. So until we meet again in the halls of Valhalla where the brave live forever. Rest in Peace Uncle Keith. Love always Neil, Angela and your Noah Hat xx - Posted by: Neil Johnson (Nephew) on: Aug 01, 2019
