DANIEL FREDERICK BOUTILIER
Left to mourn Fred's passing are his children, Diane, Gayle (Don), Gary (Wanda) and Kevin (Doris), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, son Darryl and son-in-law Mel.
Fred was born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force when he was only 17 years old. He met and married Mary in Halifax in 1944 and they were married for 73 years. His career in the Air Force took the family across the country and over to Germany and back, ending when he retired in Winnipeg. He filled his retirement years with various jobs and then took to puttering around the house and yard, visits to Nova Scotia and looking after Mom.
We wish to thank the staff at Oakview Extendicare Personal Care Home for the care they provided to him over the last year and a half. He longed to go back to Nova Scotia but had to settle for regaling the staff of stories of the Air Force and growing up in Liverpool.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Charles Headingley United Church, 110 Bridge Road, Headingley, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
