MYUNGHEE MOON CHAPMAN
September 27, 1962 - August 1, 2019

Surrounded by loved ones, Myunghee Chapman passed away on August 1, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.
Beloved wife to husband Donald Chapman, and caring mother to her three children: Gieun (Michelle), Soyun (Jesse) and Nahyun (Joel), Myunghee also leaves behind many family and friends whose lives she touched with her character.
Myunghee arrived from South Korea to Canada in 1986 and attended the University of Manitoba. It was there that she would eventually meet her husband to be. Myunghee devoted her life to her family, and to public service. She is a veteran of 25 years as a postal worker, and brought the same love, enthusiasm and passion to her job as she did to her family. Myunghee continued to maintain her Korean culture in Canada, attending a local Korean Catholic Church and volunteering with the Korean Pavilion for Folklorama. Myunghee also leaves behind her dog Philby, who misses her very much. Not enough can be said about how positive, brave and loving Myunghee was, and her loss is a significant one to all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held in her honour at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14 at St. Thomas More Parish on 66 Birchdale Ave. The celebration of her life will continue with a luncheon afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Myunghee's honour to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation would be appreciated.

  • My deepest condolences to Gieun and the rest of of Myunghee's family and friends. I met Myunghee when I First started with Canada Post at the Southwest Depot. I didn't know many people there and she showed me the ropes as an LCA. She was quiet at first but as I got to know her, I realized how sweet she was and appreciated her laugh and sense of humour. She will be deeply missed and I'll remember her fondly. Brett - Posted by: Brett Thurston (Co-worker) on: Aug 13, 2019
