ROY ANCHOR INGBRITSON

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roy on August 8, 2019.
He was born in West Kildonan, Winnipeg on January 3, 1929.
Predeceased by his parents, Conrad and Ingeborg, wife Margaret and brother Walter. Roy leaves behind his two daughters, Charlene (spouse Jeff) and Clare, grandchildren, Kristin O'Hearn, Harmony Rees, Joshua Coy and their spouses, great-grandchildren, Rory, Ransom and Malley, nephew Scott, niece Janice and their families, good friend Mary Ellen Will, cousins, friends and neighbours.
He worked for Monroe Calculators for 25 years before successfully venturing to open his own business, RAI Calculator Service & Supply with his wife. Upon retirement in 1994, they transformed their summer cottage into a permanent residence at Ponemah Beach, in which he resided until the time of his passing. He enjoyed trips in the motor home, socializing with friends and family, spending time in his garden and listening to his jazz music collection. He had a unique sense of humour and quick wit. He considered his children his greatest accomplishment and his love for his family will be felt for generations to come.

Dad, Gandhi, Grandaddy-O,
you will be dearly missed.

We would like to thank the staff at Gimli Hospital for the comfort they provided.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Roy was a soft spoken, kind person whom I admired greatly. We met through my insurance brokerage at Winnipeg Beach. We later discovered we had a number of friends/co-workers in common. I am truly saddened to learn of Roy’s passing, my sincerest condolences to Roy’s family. - Posted by: Laurence Russin (A friend ) on: Aug 18, 2019

  • Charlene and Cheryl, sorry to read about your father's passing. I remember both of your parents as being very kind and friendly to my mom and dad (Clara and Morris) when we lived on Inkster. I also remember your grandparents, the Morgans and some of the summers when we spent a few days at Ponema at your parents' cottage. I still remember being invited by your parents to spend Boxing day dinner at your place where your mom made the best turkey and mashed potatoes.
