RONALD JAMES HEPPLES
October 25, 1936 - August 12, 2019

Surrounded by love, Ron Hepples passed away at the Stonewall Hospital, with family by his side.
He is survived by his three children, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Patricia Hepples in 2007.
Ron was born and raised in the North End of Winnipeg where, at 13, he met the love of his life, Pat. They married in 1955 and settled in North Kildonan where they raised their three children: Cam, Donald and Janice.
Fond memories were on Strood Avenue where they kept and rode horses. During the winter months, Dad made a skating rink in the yard which became a gathering place for kids in the neighbourhood.
While on Strood, land was purchased in Teulon, MB in the 1960s. It was there where Ron built his lifetime dream, "The Ranch", where many fun-filled weekends were shared with close family friends. Everyone enjoyed the pot luck suppers, Saturday night rummoli games, horseback riding, swimming, shooting, sporting games, snowmobiling and countless nights around the campfire. In the later 1970s Ron and Pat made "The Ranch" their permanent home by building a cedar log home.
In 2001, they moved to Stonewall where they resided till their passing. While there, Dad enjoyed spending his time at the Legion. He enjoyed morning coffee with the boys, and in the afternoons; solving world issues at the B.S. table over a beer.
We would like to thank the staff at the Stonewall Hospital for their compassionate care during the last three months of Dad's life where they helped him maintain his "97.5" life rating as best as they could. A special thanks to everyone who helped Ron though this difficult time.
At Ron's request, there will not be a service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Stonewall Palliative Care.

  • Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May the comfort of the Lord help you during this difficult time. Old friends. Rose & Oleh Gulay - Posted by: Rose & Oleh Gulay (Friends) on: Aug 20, 2019

  • Ron was always quick to offer words of encouragement, advice or life lessons when I was a single mother with young children. As we all got older together our relationship changed from neighbors to that of friends. Sharing a drink or two after mowing the lawn Ron would always say...."yep, it's looking good over there." He loved his wife (Pat) his Family and the big trees on his property. Often he would comment how lucky he was to live in such a nice neighbourhood. I will miss Ron but will hold onto the many many fond memories of him and Pat. 🙋 😇 - Posted by: Brenda Dupuis Smith (Friend) on: Aug 18, 2019

  • So many memories of the farm in Teulon, my childhood is filled with those awesome times. My thoughts are with the family in these hard times. Love to everyone - Posted by: Barbara Rowe Davidson (Family friend) on: Aug 17, 2019

  • Our sincere condolences Cam, Don, Janice and your families. Dave and I had so much fun at the ranch with your parents and you kids... those memories bring a smile and a chuckle of all the laughter we shared with the Hepple family. Your Mom and Dad held a special place in our hearts, they would always listen and offer us sound advice whenever we would ask their opinions on things. Your Dad helped Dave get a job with the provincial government shortly after we got married, which helped us begin and build our future. Ron was such a giving, caring and loving individual with such an infectious smile and he will surely be missed. In sympathy and friendship with hugs to you and your children, Dave and Elaine Furda and family xoxo - Posted by: Dave and Elaine Furda (Old Friends ) on: Aug 17, 2019
