VICTOR ROY DERIN
April 9, 1937 - August 11, 2019
Dad will be missed greatly by his loving family: son Derk (Dawn); daughters, Cherie (Craig) and Angie (Tim); grandchildren, Shae, Malia and Trent John (TJ); brother Frank; sister Pauline (Jerry); sisters-in-law, Rosella and Rita; nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends.
Dad was predeceased by his wife Shirley, parents, John and Annie Derin, brother Edward, sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen (Elmer), Nell, Rose (Ed), Margaret (Ken), Hazel (Paul) and Walter.
Vic's story began in Saskatchewan on the farm. Life here consisted of extremely hard work for unbelievably long hours, even from a young age. When he left home for work, he would always return for harvest time each fall. His work ethic was incredible, his strength unbelievable, love for family was tremendous and pride was indispensable. He could fix anything; if there was no part to purchase, he would make one. He had a love for planes so he became a pilot and enjoyed flying his cessna. You could always count on him for a ride anywhere and his house had an open door policy; you were always welcome in for a drink. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, any support for Canadian Blood Services would be appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31 at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB.

Our deepest sympathies to Cherie, Angie, Derk and families and brother Frank! Your dad/brother was a true gentleman with always a smile on his face anytime we saw him. The last time we saw him was at mom's (Jean Ewen) birthday party January 19, 2019. Everyone enjoyed chatting with him! The memories you have made will forever remain in your hearts. - Posted by: Bev and Ray Reske and Jean Ewen (Cousins) on: Aug 21, 2019

I worked with a Victor Derin at Advance Car Radio & TV in the early 1960s. Victor worked as an electronics serviceman/benchman on both car radios and TVs. The Victor I knew appears extremely similar to the gentleman in the photo. If anyone can firm he worked at Advance Car Radio then I will provided a most humorous experience about him. - Posted by: Norman Malayney (friend) on: Aug 17, 2019
