JOSEPHINE (GIUSEPPINA) ALLEGRO
October 19, 1928 - August 18, 2019
She leaves to mourn her sons, John (Carol) and Dino (Starsha), daughter Lina (Larry), grandchildren, Dario (Meredith), Elisa, Liliane, Jacob (Ashley), Joshua, Kyla, Faith, and great-grandchildren, Gia, Nicolas and Hazel, along with numerous family members in Canada, Philadelphia and Europe.
Mom / Nonna was an amazing, loving, strong and very determined woman who lived a full life and it is so sad to see her go. She immigrated from Italy to Belgium in 1949, then to Canada in 1960. As soon as she arrived she started working as a factory worker; later she owned and operated successfully a small grocery store.
Her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. She took great pride in preparing fabulous Italian meals for her family and friends. She was known for saying... 'Be happy, I wish you the best, and God bless you'.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the Sisters of St. Benedicts Monastery and to everyone who provided comfort to our mom during her time of illness.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Rev. Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Condolences at 10:00 a.m. Entombment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
