October 12, 1937 - August 18, 2019
Francesca was predeceased by her husband, Giovanni, her parents, Francesco Paolo Provenza and Rosa Troia, brothers, Vincenzo (Natalina), Francesco, Giovanni, Salvatore, and brothers-in-law, Gaetano Rizzo and Giuseppe Ciulla.
She leaves to mourn her children, Carmela Isliefson (Gary), Rosa Colatruglio (Drago) and Santo Ciulla (Suzanne), grandchildren, Johnny, Marc, Kristina (Kevin), Matthew, Symantha and Gio, great-grandchildren, Sophia, Carson and Emma, sister Rosalia Rizzo, brother Antonino (Giuseppina), sisters-in-law, Maria, Vincenza and Maria Provenza, sister-in-law Maria Cuilla, uncle Giuseppe Troia and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends in Italy and Winnipeg.
Mom was born in Capaci, Palermo, Sicily and was one of seven children. She immigrated to Winnipeg on July 5, 1961 and worked as a seamstress at Freed & Freed and Wescott Fashions. She married our Dad in April 1965 and quickly started a family. She loved gardening and always enjoyed sharing her freshly grown vegetables with family and friends. She had a passion for decorating her home, cabin and yard with beautiful flowers and ornaments. Mom took great pleasure in taking care of all of her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed taking them to the park across the street from her house and feeding them homemade pasta.
The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the caring staff at Bethania Personal Care Home and St. Boniface Hospital.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Angel Mausoleum, Green Acres Cemetery, Hwy. #1 east of Navin Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
