Mom was preceded by her parents, Margareth and Jacob Groot, her beloved husband John Schoofs (2005), four brothers and many beloved in-laws.
Left to celebrate her life are sons, Lou (Lisa) and Dave (Lynne), daughters, Margaret (George) and Lisa (Don); grandchildren, Zachary, Rachel (Greg), Daniel and Colin, as well as sisters, brothers, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Mom moved to Canada with her family from The Netherlands as a young girl. She married her sweetheart John and enjoyed family life. She had a green thumb and loved her gardens and flowers, playing cards with friends and family, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her husband and children. They were her everything.
A celebration of her life will take place on Monday, August 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
