ROBERT MALOWSKI
February 15, 1927 - August 23, 2019

On Friday, August 23, 2019 at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home, Robert was called home to be with his Lord.
He was predeceased by his sister Stephanie (Stevie), and son Curtis.
He is survived by his wife Katherine Jean, daughter Roberta, son Trevor (Phyllis), daughter Tracey (Rob), and son Blair (Esther). He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Robert was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on February 15, 1927 to Harry and Theckla Malowski, as the first child of three. Al and Stephanie came soon after.
Robert grew up in Prince Albert and spent summers on the farm. Quit his education after starting high school to move to Thunder Bay to work in an aircraft factory for the war. Returned to Prince Albert and delivered firewood and coal for a living until he learned that school was now required. He went to night school while driving a taxi and doubled up with office work at a plumbing company. During these years he met nurse Katherine Jean Klaassen.
They were married on November 20, 1954 in Regina, Saskatchewan at Trinity Lutheran Church. This was the foundation for a lifelong fellowship with the Lord.
Dad began employment with CP Rail in Regina on the lowest rung in the office. At home, in the following years five children filled the house. At work, dad took on more responsibilities, finally becoming the Assistant Regional Supervisor of Data Capture and Procedures in the Regional Vice President's Office in Winnipeg. Not bad for a high school drop-out. He eventually retired after 40 years of work and spent many years traveling to sunny climates with Mom via planes, trains and automobiles (sometimes making 500 miles a day).
He always enjoyed barbecuing Sunday dinners for family and kibitzing with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always the first one to show up for any home project or renovation (which have been many) and prided himself on a job well done.
He will be sorely missed by family and friends too numerous to mention.
We wish to acknowledge the caring and attentive services of all the attendants at St. Norbert Personal Care Home where Dad spent his last two years and his remaining time with family.
Memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. today, Tuesday, August, 27 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota Street.
