KAREN MURIEL NIESINK
(nee ASKEW)
Karen was a beloved wife, mother, sister, auntie and friend to many. She will be truly missed by all. In our hearts, Karen will forever be remembered for her selfless and caring nature. Her beautiful soul was matched by her physical beauty.
Karen's personality was infectious, as she made the most mundane activities full of humour and joy. Karen was happiest spending time with family, friends and pets. She enjoyed staying active, eating healthy, going for walks in the park, shopping and reading. Karen had a passion for loving and giving towards all living things. This was not limited to her family and friends, but also her many pets and foster animals.
Karen is survived by her husband André Niesink; her two daughters, Lissa and Lexis Johannson; and step-daughters, Marys and Demi Niesink; her brother Gordon Askew; and sister Colleen Gockel. She was pre-deceased by her mother Alva Askew in 1979; and father Richard Askew in 2018.
Funeral services were held at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the ALS Society of Manitoba, or your local no-kill animal shelter.

I miss you more than life itself. I have no family now. You always said the right things, we made each other laugh a lot. I would never pick another sister. You pretty much saved my life and were the only one that could make me feel better. Watching you get slowly worse over the years were unbearable. But you were always smiling and never gave up on life. Always looking as beautiful as ever. Perhaps for us. I love you my dear sista more and more each day. This should have never happened, I hope we see each other again. If I’m allowed. Love you more and more everyday. Colleen (piglet) - Posted by: Colleen (Sister) on: Oct 18, 2019
