BRIAN WAWRUCK
1955 - 2019
He was predeceased by Pat, his loving wife of 27 years; and parents, Andy and Isabel. Brian will be sorely missed by his daughter Candice Humphrey (Shain), grandchildren, Samuel, William and Tayler; sister Debbie Margolis (Ron), niece Tammy Brant, nephew Matthew Brant (Kerri) and family, mother-in-law Ann Kashuba; as well as relatives, neighbours, friends, and former co-workers.
Brian enjoyed his job as a cableman for 37 years with Manitoba Hydro, Fort Garry Division, having retired two years ago, maintaining many friendships.
In his youth, weekends and holidays were spent on Uncle Walter's farm in Arborg, MB with his sister and favourite cousins. Teenage years were spent in Manitou Beach, SK which he often said was the best part of his single life. Brian and Pat loved their seven years in Okotoks, AB where he worked with the Okotoks Fire & Paramedic team, before returning to Winnipeg. Their homes were a gathering place for many good times and laughs, including for all of Candice's friends.
Candice was Brian's world; he was so very proud of all of her accomplishments and loved their regular long-distance conversations with her and the boys. Brian was a very private person with a quiet sense of humour that always made for amusing conversation. Most comfortable in his own home, he enjoyed watching sports - especially his Blue Bomber team - with his buddy Bomber by his side.
At Brian's request, there will be no formal service. Cremation and interment have taken place at Chapel Lawn where he is resting with Pat.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you spend quality time with your loved ones, enjoying smiles, laughs and treasuring those memories. A donation can be made to CancerCare Manitoba for those who wish.
