BRENDA LEVADA SORBY
December 17, 1932 - September 5, 2019
Brenda was predeceased by her loving husband Neil David Sorby Sr. in October, 2003.
She is survived by her eldest daughter Pamela (Kevin) Leco; her son Neil J., grandson Neil E., great-grandson Lucas and granddaughter Allison and her youngest daughter Darcy (Paul) Sumka, granddaughter Sidney and grandson Cameron.
Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
Brenda was married to Neil David on September 10, 1960. Prior to her marriage, she worked for the licensing department and after her marriage devoted herself to raising her three children. She was close to her parents and nursed her mother before she passed. Brenda was affectionately called Baba by every child on the block. She liked to cook and socialize. The family spent as much time as they could at the lake at Lac du Bonnet and were members of the Arlington Sports Club. They built their own cottage in the 1950's which today is still being enjoyed by the fourth generation.
Brenda suffered a stroke, while at the lake, on Thanksgiving Day, 2017. She was hospitalized and was unable to return home. We would like to the thank the staff at The Maples Nursing Home for taking care of her for the past year and a half.
Please join us for a celebration of her life, on Saturday, September 14 at The Garden City Inn (2100 McPhillips St.) from 2:00-5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brenda's honour to The Wounded Warriors Program.

Darcy, Neil and Pam, I am so sorry to hear of Mom's passing. I have such wonderful memories of your mom from my childhood. The fun our parents had together on their bowling nights or with AAC. I can see your mom and dad and my dad right now up in heaven catching up over beers and lots of laughs. We are thinking of you and your families at this difficult time.
