January 21, 1953 - September 12, 2019
She is survived by her daughter Hannah (Glenn); her son Lucas; her brother David (Barbara); and her grandchildren, Hailey, Deacon, and Katelyn. Darlene is predeceased by her husband Ulrich; her parents, Jean and William Moon; and her in-laws, Marianne and Hans Dreesen.
Mom had a quick wit, was very honest, she had a huge sense of humour, and so much love and care for those around her, including pets. She was very creative; we grew up with her decorating our birthday cakes, creating our Halloween costumes, and doing a myriad of crafts. Her passion in the last several years was crocheting; she loved to create stuffed critters, blankets and baby outfits for those who were lucky enough to know her. She would ask what the theme was for a child's birthday, and would find a pattern and create something accordingly. Nearly two years ago, she became a grandmother and chose the moniker "Nana", and both Nana and Hailey loved each other dearly. Hailey would bound into Nana's room to say 'Good Morning' and to sit together to watch cartoons or videos.
She will be missed more than we can say. Mom, we will 'luv ya' forever.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul.
