DOROTHY MARIE HARMS
(nee DOELL)
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Peter; sons, Paul, Warren and Perry; granddaughter Emma; sisters, Verna Towarnicki, Rose (Vern) Wiebe, Janice (Doug) Olender; brothers, Abe (Esther) Doell, John (Vallerie) Doell and Dan (Maryanne) Doell, and their families. She was predeceased by parents, Abe and Helen Doell.
Dorothy was born June 29, 1946. She grew up in the Bergfeld District and attended South Thames School. Peter and Dorothy were married on May 30, 1964 and lived in Plum Coulee, where they had three sons, Paul, Warren and Perry. Dorothy worked at Salem Home and Middlechurch Home.
Her faith in the Lord was a priority, and it showed as she became very peaceful in her last, difficult days.
She was so proud of her granddaughter Emma, and she enjoyed every visit and phone call very much.
When Dorothy was 59 years old, she started having health issues. This last summer her health continued to deteriorate, and she was moved to palliative care at the Selkirk Hospital. With her husband, sons, and siblings surrounding her, she went to be with her Saviour on Saturday, September 14. She will be sadly missed.
The family would like to thank Dorothy's doctors, CancerCare Manitoba, the staff at Selkirk Hospital, home care staff, along with friends and relatives who brought food and cards and visits. Thank you also to Pastor Lorne Pearson and the The Church at Pine Ridge for their services.
Funeral service will be held Friday, September 20 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church at Pine Ridge on Garvin Road off Highway 59. Interment to follow at Plum Coulee Cemetery.
