JULIE SASS

In the early hours of Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the Gimli Community Health Centre, with her husband by her side, Julie Sass, aged 74 years of Camp Morton, MB, passed away.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years Bill; her son Greg (Christine); daughters, Sharie (Rod), Trudy and Stacy; and grandchildren, Everett, April, Corinne, Alex, Taylor, Cassidy and Bryce. Julie was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Ann Bestelechman; her brother Wally; and sisters, Olga, Leona and twin sister Jean. Surviving her are brother Johnny of Winnipeg, MB; and youngest sister Vonda of Victoria, BC.
Julie enjoyed curling, winning the Women's Bonspiel one year, and golfing with her husband Bill. She loved and enjoyed her four children, staying home with them until they entered school, before she returned to work. In 1998 Julie and Bill moved to Winnipeg where Julie worked in sales at St. Vital Centre. The couple moved to the Gimli area in 2003 where she was known as the perogy queen of the Lochwoods area which she also supplied to the local Amma's restaurant.
Julie was a fun loving person, loved by many and a dedicated Christian, attending the Bayview Evangelical Free Church in Gimli.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Her remains will be buried in Winnipegosis where she lived most of her life.
We would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Gimli Betel Personal Care Home and the Gimli Hospital who cared for Julie.
