GEORGE LLOYD SWANSON
1935 - 2019
He is survived by his son Darren (Lindsay nee Simpson); brothers, Carl and James (Fay); his sisters, Arlene (Frank), Audrey, and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents and wives, Barbara Swanson (nee Roberts) of 12 years and Marian Swanson (nee Kulmatycki) of 33 years.
George was a quiet man; he didn't say much but when he did you listened. He was very insightful and sincere. George was an extremely hard-working man and was a successful business owner in the logging industry in Cochrane, ON, before moving to St. Andrews, MB to be closer to Marian's family and to retire.
George was a jack of all trades, but his true passion was flying. He enjoyed being free as a bird. He also took pride in his cooking and gardening, as well as entertaining family and friends.
Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so wish, donations can be made to the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada (royalaviationmuseum.com) or a charity of their choice.
We would like to thank the staff on 5B and the Dialysis unit at St. Boniface Hospital and the staff at Home Care Assistance for their compassion.
Funeral service will be held at Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk, MB, on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
Condolences may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com.
