MARJORIE COLEMAN
(nee STEUART)

Marjorie (Marje) Coleman passed away peacefully on September 22, 2019, at the age of 88 years.
Marje leaves to cherish her memory her loving sons, Carl (Jacquie), John (Wendy); and daughter Roberta; her three grandchildren, Paige, Jayme, Elizabeth; dear friend Bobbie; her faithful dog Piper, and nieces and nephews. Marje was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Norm; her brother Warren; and sister Connie.
Born in Winnipeg, Mom met her beloved husband Norm at Kelvin High School. Mom went on to work at Winnipeg Electric Co. while Dad pursued his engineering degree at the University of Manitoba. Mom and Dad did some travelling as a young couple before starting a family. Mom retired from full-time employment to become a devoted mother to her three children, a choice we are eternally grateful for. Family was the most important thing to Mom, our hurts and joys were her hurts and joys.
Mom was one of the original volunteers at Victoria General Hospital, volunteering every Thursday, being formerly honoured for her 30 plus years of service. Mom also worked part-time at St. Vital Arena as a cashier for public skating and the St. Boniface Saints Junior team. Mom was well thought of and well liked, her wit and humour could light up a room.
Time with family was very important to Mom from camping trips, Sunday dinners and time at the cabin. Mom wanted to make all occasions memorable especially birthdays and Christmas, family was everything.
When Dad passed away 14 years ago, a part of our Mom went too. We take solace in the thought that Mom and Dad are together again enjoying their walks through St. Vital Park.
Special thanks and gratitude to all the nurses, health care aids and staff that cared for Mom over the years at Golden Links Lodge. Your care, compassion and friendship were a comfort.
A private family service will be held to honour and celebrate Marje's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marje's honour to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
The void created in our family will never be filled, and memories of her love will never be forgotten. Heaven has received a special angel.
